100% Top score awarded to Elephant Hills in animal welfare audit standards

Elephant Hills take animal welfare seriously which is why we strive to achieve the maximum standards. Since 2010, we provide our guests with the opportunity to take part in our award-winning and ethical Elephant Experience in which they can interact with these gentle giants with strictly no riding or tricks involved.

Since 2014, Elephant Hills has constantly been praised of being Thailand’s most animal friendly elephant camp and awarded the Thailand Green Excellence Award for Animal Welfare by the Tourism Authority of Thailand.

In 2016, Elephant Hills was Asia’s only finalist in National Geographic World Legacy Awards in ‘Conserving the Natural World’, recognising our standards of animal welfare and our responsibility and support for the community and environment we work in.

In 2017, chains were completely banned at Elephant Hills, which made it the worlds first and only chain free elephant park.

In addition, an inspection by Global Spirit, the animals in tourism specialists was conducted at Elephant Hills to check our elephant related processes, such as veterinary care, food supply, elephant husbandry techniques and record keeping. The audit was concluded with the highest score of 100%!
